Hello! My name is Ivana and this is my family: my husband Alessandro, sons Giacomo (17) and Stefano (15) and daughter Quyen (8). We live in Asti, a small town of around 70 000 inhabitants located in the Piemonte (Piedmont), in the north-west of Italy, about 34 miles east of Turin, where the 2006 Winter Olympic Games were held. Asti is in the plain of the Tanaro River and is the capitalof Monferrato, which has recently been included in the UNESCO World Heritage.

We live in the countryside – yet only 3 miles from the center – in an old farmhouse, surrounded by woods and hills. We have 4 cats and a few courtyard animals, including geese and hens: the children love to go and pick up fresh eggs every day! 

I work as an immigration and human rights lawyer. Alessandro is an architect and works a civil servant. As a family we like to hike and run (we do track and field) and, of course, travel, meet new people and blend in new cultures and contexts! 

Why planning a student exchange experience?

When I was 17 I was an exchange student in the US. My exchange year shaped the person I am now, and since working at international level gives me much energy, I would like my children to benefit from the enrichment that learning about a new culture brings along. So far my sons have been to the UK in the last 4 years in the summer, in a college. Since last year Giacomo spent 2 weeks in an America family and liked it very much, we would like to replicate experience for Stefano this year, in the UK.  We would love to find a family with a boy his age (15), ideally (but of course this is not a must) sharing similar interests (Stefano is very much into nature and is a very playful boy) in a reliable family willing to start have a summer exchange with ours - we could host their son some 2 weeks here in Italy/France and then Stefano could go to the UK  for a similar period immediately before or after. We offer a warm Italian experience immersed in nature! 

We truly hope that we will be able to reach our goal and thank you all very much in advance for your help.
