HELLO!
We are a family of 3 living in Berlin, Germany, and are looking for a host family for the oldest child Nina (15), for a study-abroad-year in France. Our family is made up of me (Nina), Lourdes (mother), and Theo (12). Due to our rather international backgrounds, we are all fluent in Spanish, Catalan, German, and English. We all spent six months in the United States, where I attended high school. I have also taken French in school for, at this time, three years, which I would very much like perfeccionate with this opportunity whilst experiencing French culture as well. We would also be happy to host someone here and show them Berlin and German culture, which, from our experience, can be very interesting and different from other countries.
In the holidays we always visit our family in Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia) and in Austria, where we go to the mountains and beach in the summer and skiing in the winter.
Lourdes (mother), studied mathematics in Madrid, acquired a doctorate in mathematics education, worked in a university in Barcelona and is currently working as a mathematics teacher in an international school in Berlin (bilingual German-English). She has a great sense of humor and also makes the best paella ever (Spanish dish).
Theo currently attends 7th grade and plays tennis, table tennis, the piano, and does ninjitsu in his free time. He is full of energy and always up to do or explore something new.
I am currently attending 9th grade in an international bilingual school (English-German), where I regularly come in contact with many different cultures. After school and in my free time, I play tennis, play the piano, and do martial arts multiple times a week. I also love to meet up with friends and go eat ice cream in the summer. I am very interested in learning languages, especially French, which I've wanted to learn since I was about 10, and I would love to be able to go to school in France for a year. Also because of the crêppes, not gonna lie :)
